The American Library Association (ALA) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2027 Jason Reynolds / Simon & Schuster Travel Grant.
The grant will provide financial support to five (5) Black/African American youth or teen services librarians and school librarians/media specialists working in public or school libraries.
Each recipient will receive up to $3,000, with a minimum award of $1,500, to help cover expenses associated with attending the 2027 ALA Annual Conference. Eligible expenses may include travel, lodging, conference registration, meals and a ticket to the Coretta Scott King Book Awards Breakfast.
Applications are due by December 15, 2026. Five recipients will be selected, and the awardees will be announced in February 2027.
Grant recipients will also be recognized during the 2027 ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the Coretta Scott King Book Awards Breakfast.

The grants are funded through a generous donation provided by Simon & Schuster, Inc. and administered by the ALA Office for Human Resource Development and Recruitment (HRDR).
