The East Meadow Public Library is seeking a Librarian Trainee to work in our Youth Services Department.
Hours:
· Possible every other Saturday 9am-5pm
· One evening a week
· On-call availability a necessity
· Sunday hours available at premium rate
Duties and skills include but are not limited to:
· Provide readers’ advisory for both children and teens
· Strong customer service skills
· Provide technology assistance with public computers, mobile devices, laptops and apps
· Provide reference services for children and teens using online and print resources
· Experience with Encore, Sierra, Overdrive and Eventkeeper a plus
· Assist with collection development
· Motivated to learn new technologies
· Under supervision, lead story time and/or youth programs
Qualifications:
· Must be a Nassau County resident
· Librarian Trainee must possess a minimum of 12 credits in ALA accredited MLS
Salary: $19.46 per hour (trainee)
