Analog to Digital: The Growing Pains of a Religious Archive Migrating its Administrative Collections

DLIS Alumni Michelle Levy and Christina Orozco contributed a chapter titled “Analog to Digital: The Growing Pains of a Religious Archive Migrating its Administrative Collections” to the recently published book Organization, Representation and Description Through the Digital Age edited by faculty members Christine M. Angel and Caroline Fuchs.

Michelle Levy is a digital archivist for the Missionary Society of St. Paul the Apostle (Paulist Fathers). She earned her M.S L.I.S. from St. John’s University and has a-B.A. in History from St. John’s University. She is one of the creators of the Academic Service Learning blog Hidden Heritage Collections (hiddenheritagecollections.org); and is the co-author of Exploring Hidden Collections through Academic Service-Learning published by The Archivists Round Table of Metropolitan New York, Inc. in the Metropolitan Archivist’s winter 2015 issue. Michelle has also co-presented the workshop, Guerilla Digitization: How to Digitize Your Collection with a Low Budget and Not Go off the Deep End, as part of the DLIS Professional Development Series. Additionally, she is a member of St. John’s University Division of Library and lnformation Science Advisory Board.
