NY Archives Conference: June 6-8, 2018

Registration for the 2018 New York Archives Conference is now open!
The conference will be held at SUNY Albany, June 6-8, 2018.

Come hear our plenary speaker Thomas Ruller, the State Archivist present on the future of archives in New York state and its initiatives. This year’s Thursday evening reception will take place on the 4th Floor of the New York State Museum, where attendees can take free rides on its historic carousel, built in 1912 by the Herschell-Spillman Company based in North Tonawanda, NY. Additionally, there are permanent exhibits of New York State history to view during the reception.

Two workshops will be held on Wednesday. The Society of American Archivists will host the DAS course, Tool Integration from Pre-SIP to DIP and the Documentary Heritage and Preservation Services for New York (DHPSNY) will host Identification and Preservation of Photo Collections.

NYAC is excited to offer sessions on Preservation and Management of Born Digital Records; Next Generation Historians; Poster sessions will take place on Thursday afternoon. More information on sessions can be found in the program.

This year will feature a Mentorship Luncheon on Thursday, hosted by DHPSNY, registration required..
