Archives Volunteer -New York, NY

The dell’Arte Opera is looking for volunteers to help organize their archive.  They are a small nonprofit that began in 2000.  Archival functions they are looking for help with involve handling digitized material – video footage, photos, electronic copies of scores, etc.

More about dell’Arte:
DELL’ARTE OPERA ENSEMBLE, founded by Christopher Fecteau and Karen Rich in 2000, provides emerging opera artists with training and performance opportunities necessary to bridge the gap between the conservatory and a flourishing career. The emphasis is on “learning by doing,” backed by the philosophy that superior craft creates great art.
Our singer-development programming includes a unique and carefully structured curriculum of private coachings and masterclasses with industry professionals designed to address practice methods, diction, musical style, movement and character development, thus preparing them for a career in an increasingly competitive opera world. The work culminates in an annual summer repertory festival, with mainstage operas, opera scenes, and an art-song recital.
To date, dell’Arte has organized presentations of over fifty operas, providing more than 500 singers with invaluable experiences. dell’Arte Opera Ensemble was incorporated in 2006, and received its 501(c)(3) non-profit status in December of 2007.
