The Long Island Library Resources Council’s Local History Committee has announced that the 22nd Annual Archives Month Conference will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Mill Neck Manor House, in Mill Neck, New York.The theme of this year’s conference will be 1917: Long Island in Transition.The breakfast conference will be held from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.Speakers and topics include “Immigration Patterns in America During the Great War” by National Archives and Records Administration’s Dorothy Dougherty, “New York Women Celebrate 100 Years of Voting” with Antonia Petrash, and the history of Camp Mills with Cyril Smith. The cost is $25 per person, which includes a hot breakfast buffet and a docent-assisted, self-guided tour of the Manor House.
Attendees include archivists, historians, and librarians from historical societies, house museums, and special libraries in both Nassau and Suffolk counties.Non LILRC members are also welcome.
