Floyd Memorial Library in Greenport on Long Island is looking for a creative, imaginative and enthusiastic children’s advocate to join our staff of professional librarians and para professionals.
This is an opportunity to collaborate with a creative team to re-imagine Children’s and Youth services in our community library.
You must have experience working with children and young adults.
You must have a degree in Library Science from an accredited program or be on track to complete your degree.
You need good communication skills: written and oral.
You’ll have to be conversant with all the usual technologies and be able and willing to constantly update those skills.
You will be responsible for all children’s collection development and programming.
This position will require evening and weekend hours. We are open seven days a week, year round. This is a diverse community, economically as well as ethnically. Spanish fluency is desirable but not required.
