The Syosset Public Library is seeking a Library School student to fill a full-time or part-time Librarian Trainee position in our Systems Department.
Responsibilities will include discovering and implementing emerging technologies, assisting with Sierra administration, basic computer troubleshooting, and updating the library website. This position is project-based and requires a lot of self-motivation and organization. Some public desk hours will be included.
Prior technical knowledge is preferred, but not required – only a willingness and ability to learn. Experience with Sierra and HTML is a plus.
The candidate must be a Nassau County resident and must have completed six credits of the library school curriculum.
The position includes some daytime hours, at least one evening per week and a Saturday rotation.
