March with SLA-NY in Queens Pride Parade

March in the Queens Pride Parade!

Organized by the SLA-NY Diversity Committee, with the joint participation of area information professional associations

Pride Month kicks off in the heart of Queens with this annual parade through Jackson Heights, followed by an afternoon street festival with music, drag performances, and local cuisine. Queens Pride attracts more than 40,000 spectators and is the second largest Pride celebration in the New York metropolitan area.

Walk under the banner of “The Information Professional Collective,” Information Professionals (librarians, knowledge managers, research analysts, archivists, school media specialists, electronic services coordinators, bibliographers, digital projects managers, technical services technicians, catalogers, and more) united in support of the LGBTQ community.

Meet at 11 a.m. at espresso 77 café

(35-57 77th Street, just off of 37th Avenue in Jackson Heights, Queens)

The parade begins at 12 p.m.
