TRANSFORMING LIBRARY SPACES FOR ALL
Friday, May 13, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Longwood Public Library
800 Middle Country Road
Middle Island, NY 11953
Join us for a presentation by Peter A. Gisolfi, AIA, ASLA, LEED AP of Peter Gisolfi Associates, Architects and Landscape Architects, LLP and tour of the newly-transformed Longwood Public Library, which now features space for reading, curiosity and research; space for gathering and meeting; space for collaboration and learning.

The Longwood Public Library renovation and expansion commenced in 2012 following a successful bond referendum of $17.8 million. The library relocated to temporary space in August 2013 and moved back into the building in October 2015. The building is now 46,000 square feet, an increase of 50%. It is now a much more energy efficient facility, filled with daylight (LEED Gold status is anticipated).  The building is surrounded by native vegetation and is adjacent to a library-owned nature preserve.

There will also be time for Q&A.
