All DLIS students are welcome to attend orientation. If you would like to come and meet with the faculty, the new students, and your colleagues, please come for dinner at 6pm. Email email@example.com if you plan to attend (include any meal preference, see below). The program updates segment of the orientation will be available through the LIS 270 Colloquium Blackboard course afterwards. 4:00 – 5:00pm: Laptop distribution and orientation. Students unable to attend in-person will have their laptops shipped via Fedex.
5:00 – 6:00pm: Presentations by the instructors of LIS 204 Introduction to Library & Information Science, LIS 205 Information Sources & Services, and an overview of LIS 270 Colloquium (includes Blackboard).
Returning students invited to join at 6:00pm
6:00 – 6:30pm: Dinner (A vegetarian option is provided. If you would like to request a kosher or gluten-free meal, please email email@example.com with your request.)
6:30 – 7:00pm: DLIS Student Organization kick-off meeting
Webex access is provided for students attending online. Online students may submit questions through Webex’ chat feature, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or the faculty directly.
